Zumba Gold:

Bogi

My name is Bogi and I love teaching fitness classes. Workouts make me happy.  I've always had a great passion for dance and fitness. After having my wonderful children, I decided to quit my full-time job and turn my passion into a profession.

I acquired my AFLCA RT Group fitness and canfitpro Personal training certifications to get ready for my journey into the fitness world. A couple years later I joined my first Zumba class and I knew I would not stop there. This is what moves me and what I really love to do. I became a licensed Zumba instructor and started my journey in dance fitness. Later on, I added more specialties to my Zumba fitness classes; Zumba Gold, Zumba Kids, Zumba Toning, Zumbini, Strong by Zumba – a HIIT workout program.  Fitness makes me happy and I want to share my passion with all fitness enthusiasts and I want to help them be active and live a healthy lifestyle!

Bea Ewanchuk

My name is Bea Ewanchuk and I have been teaching fitness classes for over 20 years and have been instructing at McKenzie Towne for over 7 years.  Over the years I have taught a variety of different fitness classes (weight training, HITT, spin, kickboxing, step, circuit, aerobics etc) and have taught at a number of clubs in Calgary.  When I am not teaching, I am working at the University of Calgary.

I am AFLCA and CANFIT PRO certified Group Fitness Class Instructor as well as CPR and first aid certified.

I love teaching classes and am passionate about making fitness part of my class participants life. Teaching is not a job for me, it’s a fun way to get to work out and interact with a great group of people, I love my students and the positive energy they bring to class!

I seek to help my participants (women and men) realize their potential through weight training and HITT classes, and it is rewarding to see them grow, achieve and surpass their fitness goals.  It doesn’t matter what you’re lifting now; it matters what you’re lifting tomorrow. Always be progressing.

Sportball:
Brent

Sportball has been teaching children the fundamentals skills behind sports since 1995. First across North America, and now internationally, our star program, Multi-Sport, has put thousands of children on the path to healthy, active living and a life-long love of sports. What started with just 3 children and a single location has now grown to 900+ locations across Canada, the United States, and Singapore. We were one of the first companies to offer developmentally appropriate, non-competitive sports training to children 12 and under. Today, Sportball partners with schools to supplement or enhance existing physical education programs. Sportball works with leading research institutions to improve and further develop our curriculum. At Sportball, we always value positive learning outcomes over winning!

"This is my first year with McKenzie Towne Council, and I truly mean it when I say this is one of the most welcoming and humble places I’ve had the honour of being a part of. I’ve been practicing yoga for over a decade, and I can truly say that my love for the lifestyle of yoga, not just in the classroom but in all aspects of life, keeps growing. I found yoga at a very difficult time in my life, and it truly saved me. I fell in love with how expansive the process can be, tuning into our true selves, silencing the outer noise and allowing layers of wear and tear to melt away, leaving us feeling much more at peace with ourselves and with life! We breathe all day, every day, and yet to be conscious of it and truly feel the power of the breath to open up the body, literally breathing life back into areas of tension, stress, pain etc., is something most of us are unaware we have the ability to do. Combining the breath with fluid movement and postures, working to realign the body and therefor the mind, your body and soul will be so thankful you rolled out your mat. Yoga is the most beautiful practice, in a sense that it is just that. A practice. There is no right or wrong. There is no need to keep up with the Joneses. It’s your practice. It’s your body, your mind, your journey. I always say if it feels good do it, if it feels great stay there for longer, and of course, if it doesn’t feel good, don’t do it. Every day is different, and I’ll be there to cue you from mellow to challenging so it is up to you to listen to what your body and mind truly want out of your time! I look forward to meeting many new faces in the future!"
