Prestwick Villas Fire Relief

As most of you likely know, the condos that were on June 23 in Prestwick, have left 48 families displaced and most without any of their belongings. It was heart breaking to watch, and our hearts couldn’t stop thinking of how all these families are devastated. If only all the tears that were falling, could have magically put the fires out.

Please also watch for requests from people affected on this post, and if you have anything they are looking for, please respond directly to them and arrange to get the items to the person asking. MTC has reached out to multiple agencies and are waiting for updates. We will update the community as we get them.

Let's give the firefighters who responded to the emergency a huge THANK YOU!

They would probably enjoy Tim Horton's Gift Cards, thank you cards, or other notes of appreciation.

MTC can help collect these and pass them on, or you can bring them to the fire hall directly!

Offer Housing

The Red Cross assisted these families through their program, but as of Wednesday we have 14 families still requiring new accomodation. We have set up a platform for neighbours to register their homes as releif until people can return to their homes. Ideally, spare bedrooms are preferred instead of couches. Please fill out the form below if you're interested in helping out via lodging. By registering your house you agree to give all relevant information to everyone affected by the fire.

MTC will email all these responses to the residents affected by the fire. By filling out this form you are consenting to your personal information being shared. You may be contacted by an evacuee to seek refuge. MTC is only assisting with sharing the form submissions and is taking no part in the actual coordination of housing, so please do not ask us for housing updates. Please only fill out this form if you are serious about providing potentially long term temporary housing.

Thanks for submitting! We will send this information to those in need who will contact you if they're interested. MTC is not responsible for any coordination, disputes, or results of this service.
